University news

University of Kansas
Six students from Spring Hill and nine students from Gardner earned degrees from the University of Kansas following the fall 2012 semester.
They include LeAnn Bova, of Spring Hill. She is a graduate of Frederic Remington High School. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art.
Calen Carabajal, of Spring Hill. He is the son of Lee and Jim Carabajal, Spring Hill. He is a graduate of Spring Hill High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Christian Henningsen, of Gardner. He is the son of James and Suyin Henningsen, Gardner. He is a graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design.
Ali Isenberg, of Gardner. She is the daughter of Alma and Aldon Isenberg, Gardner. She is a graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Ryan Isnard, of Spring Hill. He is the son of Lynda Isnard, Spring Hill. He is a graduate of Spring Hill High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Jeremiah Johnson, of Gardner. He received a Master of Science in Environmental Science.
Shannon Kloiber, of Spring Hill. She is the daughter of Chet and Janis Kloiber, Spring Hill. She is a graduate of Spring Hill High School. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design.
John Laffoon, of Gardner. He received a Doctor of Education.
Alexander Latham, of Gardner. He is the son of Laura Ford, Gardner, and Jon Latham, Owasso, Okla. He is a graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Travis Locke, of Gardner. He received a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
Chelsea Meyer, of Spring Hill. She is the daughter of Steve and Jana Meyer, Spring Hill. She is a graduate of Spring Hill High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in French and Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Christi Schreffler, of Gardner. She received a Master of Science in Education.
Sundeep Singh, of Gardner. He is the son of Surinder Kaur and Piara Singh, Gardner. He is a graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.
Kaitlin Wilmoth, of Gardner. She is the daughter of Kathy and Mark Wilmoth, Gardner. She is a graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biosciences.
Jack Wright, of Spring Hill. He is the son of Stacy Wright, Spring Hill. He is a graduate of Spring Hill High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

Baker University
Baldwin City, Kan. – The following students were named to Baker University’s College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education undergraduate Dean’s List for maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average or higher during the fall 2012 semester.
Among those named were Samantha Brandt, Alexa Clark, Teresa Drovetta, Justin Lane, Teresa Morse, Kaylyn Price, Jessica Rogers, and Krystina Townsend, all of Gardner; Sydney Doster, Tammy Hunter, Ericka Simpson, and Hakeem Young, all of Spring Hill, Kan.; Amanda Baker and MacKenzie Sammons, both of Wellsville, Kan.

Baylor University
Sarah Grace Russell, of Gardner, was one of over 3,300 Baylor University students who were named to the Dean’s Academic Honor List for the 2012 fall semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.  Russell is currently enrolled in the college of Arts and Sciences.

Pratt Community College
Kari Devlin, Gardner, has earned a spot on the Dean’s Honor Roll at Pratt Community College. In order to be on the list, students must be full-time, taking at least 12 credit hours and have between a 3.5 and 3.9 grade point average.

Grand View University
Kelsey Carbajo, of Spring Hill was recently recognized for outstanding academic achievement at Grand View University for the fall 2012 semester.  Carbajo earned a grade point average of 4.0 wile carrying 12 hours of classes.

McPherson College
Madison Chambers, a senior from Wellsville; Natasha Chaney, a junior from Edgerton; and Brooke Weisenburger, a senior from Spring Hill, have all been named to the McPherson College fall 2012 honor roll.
To qualify for the honor roll, the trio of full-time students earned a grade point average of 3.55 or higher during the fall semester.

University of Saint Mary
Regina Ridgway, of Spring Hill, Kan. was named to the Fall 2012 Dean’s Honor List at the University of Saint Mary.  To be named to the Dean’s Honor List students must end the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
