Tree trimmer loses life in Gardner accident

A tree trimmer died in Gardner on June 20. The accident occurred on north Maple Street shortly before noon, according to a press release from the Gardner Police Department.
Larry Webb, 47 of Olathe, was pronounced dead at the scene. He fell approximately 60-feet while on the job in the 200 block of north Maple Street.
Because Webb was an independent contractor, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has declined to investigate the cause of the accident.
The cause of death was ruled an accidental death from long fall.
