Trailblazers wrestlers lose dual at Emporia

Battling until the end, the Gardner Edgerton High School varsity wrestling team dropped a close 32-27 decision at Emporia, Jan. 31.
Despite the team loss, several Blazers had solid performances.
Freshman Matt Klaurens won by pin at 106 pounds and Tyler Ewbank controlled a solid match to post an 11-6 win at 138 pounds. Cody Rader lost a close 4-0 decision to the number four ranked wrestler in 5A. Dustin Williams remained undefeated at 160 pounds with a 3-0 win. Seth Pesek captured first place at 220 pounds and freshman Andrew Sprague posted a 5-0 win in the heavyweight division.
