Tate named principal of new elementary school

Principal Pam Tate

Gardner Elementary Principal Pam Tate will head USD 231’s newest elementary school when it opens next fall.
Members of the board of education appointed Tate to the post during a Nov. 12 meeting. They have yet to select a replacement for Tate at Gardner Elementary.
“While I am looking forward to welcoming new students, families and staff members in this learning adventure, I will definitely miss my close association with all the wonderful students, families and staff at Gardner Elementary,” Tate said in a press release. “I know the Gardner Elementary learning community will continue their tradition of excellence with a new instructional leader, and it is my hope that I can foster the same successes achieved at Gardner Elementary in a new elementary setting as their new principal.”
Tate previously served as the assistant principal at Wheatridge Middle School and taught elementary students in several Kansas districts prior to serving the GE District. She holds a Master’s degree from Baker University and a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University.
The new elementary school will be located at 401 E. Grand Street.
