Gardner residents asked to conserve water; Governor declares drought emergency in 36 counties

Gardner’s water plant is operating at more than 80 percent of capacity, and city officials are asking residents to start conserving water. The Water Emergency Conservation Plan is designed to “isolate and conserve an adequate supply of portable water during emergency conditions that will be used only to sustain human life and maintain acceptable standards of hygiene and sanitation.”
