Buckingham qualifies for state golf meet

Jacque Buckingham shot a 94 and qualified for the 6A state meet in competition at Heritage Park on Oct. 12. Although not qualifying, Kelsey Schaefer shot a 114 and Jasmine Bailey, 141. The state 6A meet was held Oct. 17 at Shadow Glen. Results were not available at press time.

Aleman competes at state tennis tourney

Gardner Edgerton’s Samantha Aleman posted a 1-2 record at the 6A state tennis meet Oct. 14 in Wichita. First round action found Aleman defeating an opponent from Maize, 6-0, 6-1.  She lost a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Blue Valley North in the second round and ended the tourney with a tough 9-6 loss to Manhattan.
