Stephen “Steve” Earl Punches, 60, of Austin, Texas, passed away Oct. 10, 2012, at Olathe Medical Center surrounded by his family.

 

Steve was born Dec. 12, 1951 in Gardner, Kan. to William E. “Bill” and Gladys “Maxine” (Potts) Punches. He grew up in Gardner, graduating from Gardner High School in 1969. Steve received an Associate Degree from JCCC.

 

He was a manager at various locations including: JC Penny, Alco, Office Depot, Children’s Palace and for the last 18 years at TJ Max in Austin, Texas.

 

Steve was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gardner and President of his Home Owner’s Association in Austin. He enjoyed listening to music, gardening, wine tasting, boating, fishing and traveling with his sister, Connie. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Steve is survived by sister, Connie and husband Ron Crabbs, of Gardner; aunt, Virginia Ebberts, of Kansas City, Kan. and many nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Oct. 18, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, 138 E Shawnee, Gardner, KS. Inurnment at a later date. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Arrangements: Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913)856-7111.
