Starling wins All-Metro, Means second team

Bubba Starling was recently voted the K.C. Star’s All-Metro Baseball Player of the Year.
Despite missing two weeks of the season with a quad injury, he still produced impressive numbers. He batted .481 with four home runs and 18 runs scored.
Starling became the highest draft pick in Kansas City area history when the hometown Royals selected him No. 5 on June 6.
Starling, who signed with Nebraska for football and baseball, has yet to sign with the Royals and reported to Cornhusker training camp July 9 in Lincoln, Neb.
Named to the second team as a first baseman was John Means. Means was recently selected in the 46th round by the Atlanta Braves as a pitcher.
