Staffing update

The Gardner News is pleased to announce the return of Amy Cunningham to the new staff. Amy previously served as a reporter for the paper in 2009.

She is a Kansas State University graduate and worked for the Kansas State Collegian while a student there. She is also a home-grown Gardner local.

Born and raised in Gardner, she graduated from Gardner Edgerton High School. Her extended family, including her maternal and paternal grandparents, have been members of the community for more than 100 years. She is married to Travis Wilson, who is also a Gardner Edgerton High School graduate.

Amy’s popular feature – Around Town with Amy – will again be featured on page 2  in Friday editions of the paper.

Corbin H. Crable will continue to report for the paper part time. He has been named the Student Media Coordinator at Johnson County Community College. In his role there, he will advise the student newspaper.

    Welcome back, Amy. I recall and appreciate the research you did for me back in 2008 resulting in a story on a vacant commercial building on the 300 block of West Main Street. (Hoch’s Dairy Freeze, I believe it was called)
