Sprague scores 14 points in Jag win

Jace Sprague scored 14 points and Devlin Specht added 10 points leading the Pioneer Ridge Middle School seventh grade boys varsity basketball team to a 42-21 win at home against rival Spring Hill, Jan. 17.
Pioneer jumped to a 15-2 first quarter lead and went up 25-6 by halftime. The Jags added 17 second-half points to secure their third straight win.
“The team did a good job of reversing the ball and getting it into the post,” said Coach Jeff Davidson. “The post accounted for 23 points in the game.”
Pioneer’s press forced numerous turnovers creating easy baskets. Early scoring came from Sprague, Specht, Jacob James and Luke Laskowski. James had 8 points and Matt Layng, 5. Reid Frase had 2 points.
