Special Olympics team earns two gold medals

Two Gardner Gold Special Olympics soccer teams earned gold medals last weekend.
The Golds fielded a junior and senior team at the Regional Kansas Special Olympics Tournament on Sept. 9.
The senior team beat Olathe and Blue Valley to bring home the gold. The juniors defeated a Blue Valley team and then Olathe to also earn gold.
The state tournament is Sept. 30 where Gardner Gold will attempt to become three-time state champs in their division.
