Pioneer eighth grader Devlin Specht displayed decathlete form at the Sunflower state track meet in Topeka July 13.
Competing in the 13-14 boys division, Specht took second in the javelin with a throw of 120’-4”,took fourth in the triple jump sailing 34’-5”, was fourth in the pole vault clearing 8’-6” and finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 16’-7”.
Equally impressive was teammate Wyatt Hollingshead who finished second in the 100 hurdles in a time of 17.87, placed seventh in the pole vault clearing 6’-6”, was seventh in the 100 meters in 13.3 and was eighth in the 200 meters in 27.8.  Wyatt also competed in the 13-14 year old boys division.
In the 13-14 boys division, Rees Taylor was 11th in the 200 meters in 28.2 and 10th in the 100 meters in 13.5.
In the 15-16 boys division, Davis Tropansky finished second in the pole vault clearing 11’-6”.
On the girls side, Macey Elkinton finished third in the 15-16 girls javelin with a throw of 90’.
