U.S. Army Specialist Brian S. Johnson presented Spring Hill Mayor Steve Ellis with the a flag of the United States of America last week.
Johnson had arranged for the flag to be flown in an Apache helicopter over an active military zone in Afghanistan. The flag he presented to Ellis flew over operations on Sept. 17, 2013, in honor of his community.
β€œIt is because of the sacrifice of patriots like Sgt. Johnson that we are allowed to assemble together tonight,” Ellis said, β€œI am honored to accept this flag on behalf of the grateful citizens of the city of Spring Hill.”
