Senior forward Mikayla Smith was recently voted Spring Hill Bronco MVP soccer player.
Smith is one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the Frontier league and the state of Kansas. She scored more than 100 goals for Spring Hill and had more than 50 assists in her career.
One of this season’s highlights came against Piper when Smith scored five goals and reached 100 goals for her career. She scored her ninety-ninth goal on an assist from her sister, freshman Mallory Smith. For her five goal effort she earned KC Star Athlete of the week.
She celebrated senior night with a goal and two assists as the Broncos defeated Louisburg 3-2 to gain a share of the Frontier league title with Desoto.
She scored two goals in a playoff victory over Heritage Christian to get the school’s fifth straight regional title.
Smith will continue her career at UMKC this fall. She is the daughter of Joe and Laura Smith of Spring Hill.
