Smith competes in metro wrestling classic

Spring Hill senior Taylor Smith recently finished his high school wrestling career with an impressive performance at the Kansas vs. Missouri Metro Classic dual at Kansas City Kansas Junior College on Feb. 28.
Smith lost a close 4-3 decision to Kyle Montalto of Blue Springs South in the 113 pound division.
Spring Hill High School coach Tucker Woofter was one of the Kansas coaches and offered words of encouragement.
“Taylor is a great wrestler, student and amazing young man,” he said. “I’m very lucky to have him in the program. I’m glad he had this opportunity in the Metro and he performed real well.”
With high school complete, Taylor will focus his attention on attending Benedictine College. He plans on wrestling and majoring in psychology.
Taylor is the son of Tamia and Shane Smith of Spring Hill.
