Small plane crashes near Gardner airport

A single-engine Beechcraft airplane crashed about 1 p.m. on June 6 near 183rd Street and U.S. 56 Highway.
Two people were on board the plane.
One person sustained minor injuries and a second person was not injured.
Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and found the airplane in a field about 200 yards from the runway at Gardner Municipal Airport.
Federal Aviation Administration officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
