Hunter Skeens scored four touchdowns leading the Blazer freshman football team to a 42-18 home win against Olathe South, Oct. 15.
Skeens who rushed for 210 yards on 13 carries, opened the scoring with a 63 yard touchdown run. Jonas Pippitt added the two point conversion to put GEHS up, 8-6.
GEHS went up 20-6 at halftime thanks to another 63 yard Skeens touchdown and a 21 yard pass from quarterback Griffin Johns to Skeens.
Second half scoring came on a 41 yard Skeens run, a Johns four yard touchdown run and Matt Summerlin’s 51 yard touchdown run.
Besides Skeens, Johns rushed nine times for 71 yards. Summerlin added 62 yards on two totes. Zach Bass carried twice for 54 yards and Pippitt had three rushes for 22 yards.
Through the air, Johns connected on three of five passes for 72 yards and one touchdown.
His favorite target was Bass who grabbed two passes for 51 yards. Skeens had one catch for 21 yards and a touchdown.
Now 5-2, the frosh finish their season at Olathe North, Oct. 24.
