Sigma Phi Epsilon at Baker University Hosts St. Baldrick’s Foundation Head-Shaving Event to Raise Funds for

Childhood Cancer Research

With a Goal to Raise $2,000, 10 Volunteers Are Expected to Brave the Shave


What:               Sigma Phi Epsilon at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan., will host a St. Baldrick’s Foundation signature head-shaving event to raise funds and awareness for lifesaving childhood cancer research on Saturday, April 25. With a goal of raising $2,000, nearly 10 participants are expected to shave their heads to support the Foundation’s mission to Conquer Childhood Cancers!

Why:                Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven and donor-centered charity dedicated to raising money for children’s cancer research and funding the most promising research initiatives to find cures. As the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants, the Foundation hosts signature head-shaving events where volunteers collect pledges and then shave their heads in solidarity with children fighting cancer.

Event will end at 8:30 p.m.
