Spring Hill High School students will select royalty this week when a homecoming king and queen are crowned during halftime of the Bronco game on Friday. The coronation will top Spirit Week and Homecoming activities. This week students are showing their spirit in the halls of SHHS. The week will culminate with an ‘80s-themed homecoming dance after the football game.
Homecoming candidates Brianna Brenneman and Lincoln Smith were selected to represent fall sports activities and were voted on by those involved in fall sports this year.
Brianna Brenneman has been a member of the volleyball and softball teams for four years. She is a Purple and Gold Honor Roll student, a member of National Honors Society (NHS) and has been involved in LINKS and Natural Helpers. She is a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and SADD. Brenneman plans to attend Kansas State University.
Lincoln Smith has served as Greenhand President of FFA, president of NHS, and currently serves as president of SADD. He has been on the Principal’s HonorRoll for three years and has been a LINKS leader and Natural Helper leader. He is a football team captain and has been on the wrestling and track teams. He is involved with FCA and regularly helps with activities at Grace Community Church of the Nazarene. Smith plans to enlist in the United States Air Force and hopes to become a pararescueman.
Megan Hobson has been on the volleyball and soccer teams all four years. She is involved in Volunteer Club, NHS and SADD. She has previously been a member of LINKS and Natural Helpers. She has been on the Purple and Gold Honor Roll throughouthigh school. Hobson is currently undecided about her future plans, but is considering playing volleyball in college and pursuing a degree in the medical field.
Trevor Cluckhas lettered in football all four years and is a team captain. He has also played on the basketball team for three years and was a member of the track and tennis teams for one year. He is the vice president of NHS and has been a Purple and Gold Honor Roll student for three years. He was also a Natural Helper during his junior year. Cluck is undecided about his future plans but hopes to play collegiate football.
Sydney Cluck is the senior class president and is a member of NHS and LINKS. She has previously been the Junior Class Secretary and a Natural Helper. She has been on the Purple and Gold Honor Roll through high school. She has played volleyball for two years, as well as basketball and soccer for four years. She made All-Region and 1st Team All State for soccer sophomore and junior year, and was named MVP her sophomore year. Cluck hopes to receive an offer to play collegiate soccer.
Bradley Bink has played soccer for four years, has been on varsity for three years, and currently serves as a team captain. He played basketball freshman year, and has played baseball for four years. As a senior, he is a member of the Powder Puff Dance Team. Bink plans to attend Baker University or the University of Kansas and earn a degree in sports/physical therapy.
Lizzy Atwell is the captain of the SHHS dance team. She is a member of Madrigals and NHS, and has been involved with LINKS, FCA, and Natural Helpers. She has also served as part of Student Council and is on the Principal’s Honor Roll. This year she coached the Boys Powder Puff Dance Team. Atwell plans to attend MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Jake Putnam has been on the cross country team for four years and also played tennis. He is a LINKS leader and was a Natural Helper his junior year. He is the president of the Thespian Society and has performed in two plays and two musicals at SHHS. He is also a member of Madrigals and the Powder Puff Dance Team. He has been a member of Student Council for three years and currently serves as StuCo President. Putnam plans to attend a four-year college but has not selected on a school.
