SH police respond to bomb threat at SHHS

Spring Hill Police investigated a potential bomb threat at Spring Hill High School Tuesday morning, but determined it was unfounded.

According to Spring Hill Police Sgt. Brian Holmes, the evening janitor found the note scratched on toilet paper Monday.

“It was placed on his supervisor’s desk from there,” Holmes explained.

The note ultimately landed on the Vice Principal’s desk Tuesday morning.

Police watched all of the school’s surveillance video and interviewed several students about the incident.

“We take everything seriously,” Holmes said. “It was investigated, but there’s nothing to substantiate that there is a credible threat.”

According to a press release from the school district, high school officials followed district safety and security procedures.

Holmes said police will be monitoring the school closely during the next several days.

“We’re going to make our presence known at the school and see if anything else turns,” he said.
