SH middle school, elementary school put on lockdown

Spring Hill Middle School and Spring Hill Elementary School were on lockdown March 26 as school officials and law enforcement responded to an unknown and unauthorized person who attempted to enter the building.

District officials said students and staff were never in danger.

Officers from the Spring Hill Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded quickly and intercepted the person.

“Our law enforcement partners arrived within moments and ensured that the situation was quickly resolved,” Bart Goering, Spring Hill Superintendent, said.

The unauthorized appeared to be confused when attempting to enter the middle school,  according to a press release issued by the district. SHMS was immediately put on full lockdown, and SHES, which sits adjacent to the middle school was also put on lockdown as a precaution.
