SH Chamber meets with Zimbabwe delegation

The Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce hosted a delegation from Zimbabwe June 24.  The International Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City arranged the eight visitors interested in rural economic development.  Mayor Steve Ellis, Superintendant Dr. Barton Goering, USD 230 and Miami County Commissioner Ron Stiles gave an overview of the vision and resources necessary to build a community like Spring Hill.  Ken Sanderson from Great Southern Bank discussed financial considerations for small businesses and rural investments, Grant Merritt- BlackHawk Development presented the challenges of the small business owner and Ron Sullivan from Accounting Partners Inc. gave a great presentation on 4-H and FFA groups in developing the youth of a community.  Members of the Zimbabwe delegation included Shepherd Darlington, the CEO of Mutare Rural District Council; Mr. Clever, council chairman; Lucy Edition, the Finance Administration Manager of the Association of Rural District Councils of Zimbabwe; Alois Musakanda, CEO of Murewa Rural District Council; David Matambura, council chairman of the Makoni Rural District Council; Mr. Ellias, ward councilor of Matetsi Ward; and Ms. Talita, Runde Rural District Council Chairperson.
