It took two overtimes but Spring Hill prevailed 2-1 versus Louisburg, Oct. 3.
“Louisburg is a great program and we were able to walk off the field at Louisburg for the first time in school history with a win,” said coach Michael Cox. “The kids fought back to forge a tie and then win in overtime. I am so proud of the team.”
Louisburg led 1-0 at halftime, but Spring Hill regrouped. With 16 minutes left in the game, Derek Bybee scored on a cross from Tyler Hartsock.
After a scoreless first overtime period, Spring Hill went to work. One minute into overtime, Joey Vecchione tossed the ball in to Niles Kahn who fired the game-winner into the lower net.
Spring Hill now owns a 11-3-0 record with just two games remaining.
