SH Broncos brace for battle at Paola

The Spring Hill High School Bronco football season begins on the road at rival Paola High School, Friday night.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Panther stadium in Paola.
“We look forward to the start of the season,” said coach Anthony Orrick. “We expect to improve on last year’s record and make a run in the playoffs.”
Orrick led the Broncos to their first playoff win in 20 years last season and had a record turnout in numbers in fall camp.
Senior quarterback Ryker Johnson will lead the team and other top returners include offensive lineman Cristian Esparza, slot back Tyus Heinrich and wide receiver, Charles Elam.
Paola graduated 16 players last season, but retained the senior leadership of Derek Weaver, Avery Boehm and Jake Robison.
