Setting several new personal records, the Pioneer Ridge Middle School eighth grade girls brought back a second-place finish from the Louisburg Triangular last week.
“All three teams were evenly matched, and the meet winner wasn’t decided till the final two events,” said Coach Jeff Davidson. “The kids have been working hard in practice and showing a lot of improvement.”
Taylor Carpenter led the way with a gold medal 100- meter time. She also team with Kayla Haff, Gracie Moorehouse, and Cierra Swait to win the 400 relay . Carpenter joined Moorehouse, Swait and Haylei Bell to win the medley relay.
Finally, Carpenter anchored the Jags’ gold medal 800-meter relay of Moorehouse, Bell and Haff.
Jayme Morris won the two mile, and Sydney Smith took first in the long jump.
Lauren Highfill took second in her specialty, the 100-meter hurdles, and Reece Elliot took second in the 800-meter run. Haff took second.
