Though the Gardner Edgerton High School varsity baseball team put up a good fight on senior night, May 13, the team was unable to overtake Blue Valley West. West took the win 12-5.
GEHS seniors TJ Burger, an outfielder; Carter Hohn, a pitcher; Andrew Plank, first baseman; and team manager Kylie Bass were honored prior to the game.
On the field, the Blazers rallied in the third inning to make a game of it.
Plank had a big night with two hits and two RBIs. Chris Davidson had a two RBI single, senior TJ Burger had two singles, Spencer Scalzi had two singles, Andrew Halverson had a double, Hunter Skeens had one single, Jack Mills also had a single, and Nolan Beets had an RBI.
In the second game, GEHS lost 8-0. Despite the loss, Jared Highfill, Tyler Henry, Chris Davidson and Mills collected hits.
