The city is seeking applicants to replace long-time police chief Ken Francis. Francis passed away on Sept. 14, 2012 at the age of 66.
In honor of his 25 years of service to the Gardner community, city officials waited 25 days to begin the search for his replacement.
According to city human resources manager, Mary Bush, the open position is posted with a variety of organizations.
“We are doing a national search,” Bush said.
The city will seek applications through Dec. 31. Officials are still finalizing the remaining steps in the hiring process.
