The 2012 year has been a busy one for the Spring Hill Rustlers 4-H Club. The November meeting started our year with a pot luck awards night. December was celebrated with caroling and a Christmas party.
In February, we had our annual Chili Cook-off, when everyone cooks up their own chili recipe, we bring in judges, and prizes are given out for the best chili at the end. A
lso in February, we went to Blackhawk Assisted Living, to show off our talents in a variety show. Participants played instruments, sang, preformed skits, and read poetry to entertain the residents. Club Days were a big part of February when we showed off our performance skills in Gardner.
Over spring break, we cleaned up trash littering some streets around Spring Hill. In January and April we hosted a bake sale at a high school basketball and soccer game to do some fundraising for our club. During our May meeting we celebrated the graduation of our senior member. In June, we went on an Educational tour to an Emu farm in Paola as well as working in a concession stand to help fund our club activities.

July has been a hot month but another street clean-up was done, and we will end the month going to the Louisburg Pool to have some fun before our July meeting!
We are all excited and rapidly preparing for fair in August.
It’s great to be a Rustler.
