Rollover crash kills 2 – Updated

Two persons were killed in a rollover accident on I-35 near the Moonlight Road overpass.
The accident happened about 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 31.
According to Master Deputy Rick Howell of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, a passenger vehicle was southbound when it overturned.
Killed were Jennifer Diane Curbow, 32, of Edgerton, and Jason Richard Mees, 32, of Hiawatha. Mees was driving the vehicle. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither was wearing a seatbelt. One of the victims was struck by a southbound minivan. It is unknown whether the person was already dead when they were struck.
No one in the van was injured.
The accident shut down southbound I-35 for about four hours.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
