Roger Dale Williams

 

Roger Dale Williams, 45, of Edgerton, Kan., passed away Feb. 1, 2013 at OlatheMedicalCenter. 

 Roger was born Feb. 11, 1967 in Topeka, Kan. to Roger Michael and Mabel Marie (Woodruff) Williams.  He grew up in Olathe, graduating from LibertyChristianHigh School in 1985. 

 Roger married Judy Elizabeth Brown on Sept. 20, 1986 in Blue Springs, Mo.  They made their home in Olathe until moving to Edgerton in 2007. 

 Roger was a transportation officer for the Johnson County Dept. of Corrections Residential Center at New Century, Kan. since October 1998. 

 He was an active member of the CommunityRevivalCenterChurch. 

 Roger was the bear den leader for Cub Scout Pack No. 3369 in Edgerton.  Roger liked being around people and family was everything to him. 

 Roger loved to study the word of God.  He was a lay minister.  He was always willing to share the good news of the gospel.  He will be dearly missed.

 He was preceded in death by his mother Mabel. 

 Roger is survived by his wife Judy, of the home; children, Jessica Elizabeth, Stefany Danielle, and John Michael Williams, all of the home; father Roger and step-mother Paula Williams of Harlingen, Texas; sisters Lori Chand of Amarillo, Texas and Lisa Roehrig of Kansas City, Mo. 

 

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Feb. 6, 2013 at CommunityRevivalCenterChurch, 2749 Montana Rd, Ottawa, KS.  Burial will follow at EdgertonCemetery, Edgerton, Kan.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Feb. 5, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Gardner, 324 E Shawnee.
