4 arrested following vandalism spree

Three juveniles and an 18-year-old were arrested Dec. 28 following a rash of vandalism in the previous evening in Gardner.
The vandalism included damage to Christmas decorations and mailboxes.
Six incidents of vandalism to Christmas decorations were reported in an area bordered by Spruce, Oak, 183rd and 184th streets in southern Gardner.
Twelve mailboxes were damaged between Sycamore and Poplar streets in northern Gardner.
The four suspects were arrested after Gardner officers observed a suspicious vehicle.
The three juveniles were released to their parents and the 18-year-old was also released.
The case is under review by the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office.
The four are expected to be charged with criminal damage to property.
Residents are asked to contact police at (913) 856-7312 if they are aware of any other incidents of vandalism.
