Using balanced scoring, the Pioneer Ridge Middle School seventh grade girls track team brought back a second place finish from the Ottawa Invitational last week.
Winning four events, the PRMS seventh grade squad brought back seven golds. Morgan McIntire vaulted into the top spot clearing 7-feet 6-inches. PRMS’ Elle Lefmann secured gold in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line in 70.6 seconds. Olivia Musan took first place in the 800 meters with a time of 3:05 minutes. PRMS’ medley relay team of McIntire, Musan, Vallery and Lefmann also took gold.
The eighth grade girls finished first in nine of 16events and brought back first place team honors.
“This team does a great job cheering for each other and pushing each other to reach their potential,” said Coach Jeff Davidson.
With the win, the team has a perfect 6-0 record.
PRMS’ Sophia Pogue took first in the two mile with a time of 13:49 minutes. Ashlyn Carlson took goldin 19.17 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles, while Taylor Fergola in 14.2 seconds, took the top spot in the 100 meter dash. Kelby Wilson took first in the 1600 meters and in the 800 meters. Fergola again earned gold in the 400 meters. Brianna Davidson brought back gold in the shot put, and Jade Williams earned the top spot in the discus. The eighth grade, 400 meter relay team of Carlson, Whittley, Pugh and Fergola also saw gold.
