The Prairie Star 4-H Club contributed to the Mayor’s Christmas this year by adopting a family again. The club also collected coats, jackets, gloves, hats, and other cold weather clothes for Project Warmth and donated them to Joy’s Closet. Some club members also helped Harvesters distribute food at the Nazarene Church.
This summer, Prairie Moon members have been busy with the Gardner Community Garden helping with planting, weeding, and harvesting. Members have a large communal tomato plot this year. For taking care of the plot, the club receives half the profits from the sale of the tomatoes. Members also have planted with various vegetables and flowers in the community garden. The 4-H members painted stepping stones and made other decorations to spice up the club plot.
During this year’s meetings, club members had a fun Parliamentary Procedure Presentation and members also presented posters with some of their projects at a recent meeting. The club also got together and worked on ceramics for the fair. Members are looking forward to the fair and a field trip to Shatto Dairy coming up soon and a great rest of the year!
