Prairie Star 4-H

Sienna Muellner
Club reporter
Prairie Star 4-H held its meeting and holiday party at the Johnson County Fairgrounds on Dec. 9.  Charli McGill and Elly VanRheen led members in a rousing rendition of Jingle Bells; roll call was then answered with “what your favorite winter activity was.” Jesse Molenda told a joke and Secretary Shae Stamps read the minutes from the last meeting. Bert Moldenda collected the many items donated to the Mayor’s Christmas Adopt-A- Family Program.
Jeanette Davis handed out pins to those who achieved award status for the past year at the meeting.  She highlighted what a Kansas Award Portfolio (KAP) award is and how to achieve this award.
Matt and Melissa Russell organized the club’s holiday party.  Thank you to all who helped provide snacks and drinks for the club.  They also had a White Elephant Gift Exchange.  The next meeting will be the “fun meeting” in January, and more details will be announced soon.
