And then there was one.

Two planning commissioners issued their resignations this week, draining the already light committee down to one experienced member.

Ray Manley and Greg Godwin sent emails their intentions to resign from the commission. Manley’s resignation was effective immediately, or today, July 23. Godwin said he would serve until a replacement was found.

The resignations leave the commission with one experienced member, Karin Livella.

In the last several months, former commission chair Tory Roberts was elevated to the city council.

Meanwhile, commissioner Andy Copeland announced that he would be moving out of Gardner. New rules, adopted by the city council last spring, effectively term limited two other members – Jason Burnett and Dan Popp.

Gardner City Council members approved the appointment of four new planning commissioners on July 15. They are: Sheri Barber, Raymond Kimzey, Adriana Meder and Aaron Weatherford. The quartet is set to be sworn-in during a planning commission meeting tonight.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. tonight, July 23, at city hall.
