Danie Plank and Shelbe VanDeBerghe scored 14 points apiece leading the Lady Blazers to a  55-34 win against Blue Valley West in Eastern Kansas League action at home Jan. 4.
Gardner Edgerton High School trailed 12-8 after the first quarter but outscored the Jags 17-7 to take a 25-19 halftime lead. Plank started the rally with a trey, and VanDeBerghe  hit a lay-up to give GEHS its fisrt lead at 13-12 with 6:15 remaining until haftime.
Inside baskets by Plank and Hayley Dellinger provided the Blazers with an 8-point, halftime cushion.
From there, GEHS took control tacking on an additional 30 second-half points to secure its second win. The defense limited West to just 15 second-half points.
Dellinger had a good night netting 8 points while Angeliece Tucker and Abby Buie  contributed 6 points. Francis Schafer had 3 points and Kyra Burcham , 2 points.
The Blazers returned to the court at St. Thomas Aquinas Jan 8. Results were not available at halftime.
