Shelby Plank just returned from a tour of Italy with her 16-year-old American fast pitch softball team.
Plank, who will be a junior at Gardner Edgerton High School this fall, was invited by her pitching coach Christie Ambrosi and was one of 11 members on the team.
The American team played six double-headers which included visits in Verona, Florence, and Rome. Several of the Italian teams had rosters filled with 23-28 year-olds.
The tour also included visits to the Vatican City, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
