Special to The Gardner News
Martin Creek Park in Edgerton hosted a Kansas Horseshoe Pitchers Association  sanctioned tournament on Saturday, August 24.
Eighteen “pitchers”, including local residents, Robert Knabe, Edgerton,  and Gene Brite, Gardner, competed in four different classes.
A Class winner was Barney Bell, B Class winner was Harlan May, C Class winner was Robert Knabe, and Championship Class winner was Rich Gassdorf.
Tournament director Ed Shanley would like to thank all the competitors, as well as the Edgerton Frontier Days Association, which provided, and set up a large canopy for the competitors to get a break from the heat.
Shanley would like to get a horseshoe league started in Edgerton. If interested, please call him at (913)893-6024.
