Pioneer Trail named finalist for national award

OLATHE – Pioneer Trail Middle School has been notified that they are one of five finalists for the National Middle School of the Year.
The winner is expected to be announced in mid-May.
“This is a great honor and we are proud to be considered for such an amazing award,” Principal Mike Wolgast said. “It is a true reflection of the hard work and collaborative effort of the staff, students, and parents of the Pioneer Trail community.”
Earlier this year, Pioneer Trail received the Lighthouse Blue Ribbon Award. The designation lasts for five years and the school had to meet or exceed criteria in nine categories.
“Pioneer Trail’s staff and its leader, Principal Michael Wolgast, do an exceptional job at educating our students,” Assistant Superintendent Erin Dugan said. “We are extremely proud and honored that they have been selected as a finalist for this prestigious award.”
