Pioneer Ridge Middle School Lady Jags finish strong at league meet

Setting several personal best, the Pioneer Ridge Middle School eighth-grade girls track team ended the season at the league meet in Ottawa, May 6.
Heather Culbertson led the way with a second place finish in the discus with a toss of 78’-9”. Tiffany Harlow finished fourth in the high jump clearing 4’-4” and Kaitlyn Dayton claimed fifth in the same event clearing 4’-0”.
Other fifth place finishes went to the Pioneer 800 relay team and pole vaulter Sydney Deitz. Sixth place awards went to Jewell Carter in the 3200 meter race, Harley McKinney in the 100 meter dash, Jessi Heniss in the 200 meters, Taylor Amundson in the pole vault and the 1600 meter relay.

“I was real proud of the effort,” said Coach Jeff Davidson. “We had one of the smallest teams in the competition as far as numbers and still were able to place 13 athletes in at least one event. Thanks to all the parents for their support of the program.”
