Phone service for Centurylink landline customers was restored at 8:30 a.m. May 20. Outages effected about 5,000 customers in Gardner, Spring Hill and Edgerton.
Customers were without service for not quite two days – from late afternoon May 18 thru early morning May 20 as a result of a failed switch server.
“The switch server which handles the wire line calls failed,” said Mike Baker, senior communications manager for Centurylink. Technicians worked on the outage from Friday thru Sunday.
“We were committed to getting our services up and running as quickly as possible,” Mike Baker, senior communications manager, Centurylink.
