Perkins Restaurant set to open in mid-February

Perkins franchisee, Jim Rahfaldt of CyHawk Hospitality, announced  that they are opening a new Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, located at 2000 E. Santa Fe (next to Arby’s and adjacent to Wal-Mart) in Gardner, sometime in mid-February, 2014.
According to  Rahfaldt, the conversion of the site (the former Whiskey River building) began in November and the enthusiasm and support surrounding the opening of a Perkins Restaurant & Bakery has been mounting ever since.
“The community is truly excited about having Perkins right at their doorstep. For years our concept has been synonymous with family dining excellence — great food at a great value, and personalized, friendly service. We look forward to bringing that memorable dining experience to Gardner,” he said.
With a 6,000 square foot floor plan, the new Perkins Restaurant will seat 200 guests and will be open seven days a week from 5:30am-midnight Sunday through Wednesday and open 24 hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Along with a welcoming exterior design package, the interior of the restaurant will feature two large dining areas that convey a fresh and airy ambience while allowing for intimate table and booth layouts, as well as a large meeting room that can accommodate up to 40 comfortably.
The Gardner location will feature a menu including breakfast items such as omelettes and buttermilk pancakes that will be available all day, a full line of lunch and dinner offerings and Perkins freshly prepared pies and bakery products.  A seniors’ as well as a kids’ menu will also be offered.
“What makes our menu so appealing is the fact that there is something for everyone,” said Rahfaldt.
He has opened eight Perkins Restaurant & Bakeries in the past seven years.
“Our history and success with the Perkins brand is strong, and we are optimistic about, and look forward to introducing the restaurant to the area and having the opportunity to serve the local Gardner community,” he said.
The new restaurant will hire approximately 120 employees.
