Paul R. Koontz, Sr., 82, of Spring Hill, Kan. died Nov. 4, 2013.
Paul was born Oct. 20, 1931 in Aspers, Pa.
Paul was a military veteran who earned a purple heart in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War conflict.
He was an avid bowler earning numerous awards. He was also known for all the jokes and pranks he pulled on others.
He was a much beloved husband, father and grandfather to three generations of family. He will be missed.
Paul is survived by his wife Josephine; six children, Gina Griffith, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Hank Koontz, of Independence, Mo., Cindy Toburen, of Paola, Kan., Paul Koontz, Jr., of Independence, Mo., Jeffrey Koontz, of Buckner, Mo. and Lori Clifton, of Williamsburg, Kan.; step children Anna Surface, of Alma, Kan. and Lewis Brockmann, of Hobbs, N. M.; sister Ruth Vandasdalan, of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.; and brother Ronald Koontz, of Medford, N. J.
Preceding him in death was his wife Patricia in Nov. 2002.
No funeral services are planned. His body was donated to the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Mo. to be used for medical research and studies.
