Some water customers may experience fluctuations in water pressure for the next month or so. Contractors began the process of taking the 183rd Street water tower out of service on March 18. The tower will be cleaned and its interior will be painted. City officials anticipate the project will take four to six weeks. Officials warn that there will be a potential for high water pressure that may cause localized failures of water mains. Customers who notice unusually high volumes of water flowing down a street or ditch line when it hasn’t been raining, should report it to Gardner Public Works. The department can be reached at (913)856-0922 during work hours or at (913)856-6802 after hours or on weekends.
