Officers participate in Tip-A-Cop fundraiser

MISSION – Save the date for great BBQ and being “served” by local law enforcement officers. On Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. officers will join “forces” with K & M BBQ employees to raise money for Special Olympics Kansas.
Officers will trade in handcuffs and badges for aprons and order pads for the Tip-A-Cop fundraiser. Officer Zach Roberts, of the Spring Hill Police Department, said “Tip-A-Cop is an entertaining event that allows the community to support a worthy cause, while watching law officers clear tables and refill drinks.”
Officers will share information with customers about Special Olympics, and solicit “tips” for their hard work. All tips will be donated to the athletes of Special Olympics Kansas.
All proceeds benefit the 5,489 Special Olympics Kansas athletes by providing medals and ribbons, meals, healthy athlete screenings, training for coaches and equipment.
