Yoder apologizes for skinny dipping incident

Rep. Kevin Yoder

Congressman Kevin Yoder, R-Kansas, has apologized to his constituents, which includes all Johnson County residents, after Politico reported that he skinny dipped in the Sea of Galilee while on a Congressional fact-finding trip to Israel last year.
“A year ago, my wife, Brooke, and I joined colleagues for dinner at the Sea of Galilee in Israel,” Yoder told the online news service. “After dinner I followed some Members of Congress in a spontaneous and very brief dive into the sea and regrettably I jumped into the water without a swimsuit. It is my greatest honor to represent the people of Kansas in Congress and [for] any embarrassment I have caused for my colleagues and constituents, I apologize.”
Yoder joined a number of members of the fact-finding mission in taking a dip into the lake, however he was the sole person to completely disrobe.
The trip was funded by the American Israel Educational Foundation, a pro-Israel advocacy group.
Yoder is serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was elected to the role in 2010. He is seeking re-election this year and has no opponent in the general election this November.
