Obituary: Nathaniel Jacob Stiles

Nathaniel Jacob Stiles, 17, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away Oct. 29, 2010, at KU Medical Center.

Nathan was born Nov. 2, 1992 in Olathe, Kan., to Ronald E. and Connie (Morrison) Stiles.  He was in his senior year at Spring Hill High School. He served as captain of the football team and was voted Homecoming King this year.  Nathan loved basketball, sang in the Madrigals, was a member of the National Honor Society and a Kansas Honors Scholar.  He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Nathan was a very involved and dedicated member of the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church.  He sang with the Hillsdale Singers and participated in Vacation Bible School.  Nathan loved Jesus and read his Bible every day.  Because of his devoted faith in Jesus Christ and his desire to share God’s love with everyone, the Nathan Project has been established. He will be dearly remembered by all who knew him and felt his love.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Catherine Stiles.  Nathan is survived by his parents Ron and Connie Stiles; Grandparents Robert Stiles and Eldon and Judy Morrison; siblings Natalie, Josie, Nick and Clinton Stiles; and nephew Cody, all of Spring Hill.

A funeral Service for family and the church family will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church.  Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.  Nathan will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at the Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, Kan., (913)592-2244.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Nathan Stiles #44, 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at the Spring Hill High School at 199th and Ridgeview.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church in care of the Nathan Project.  Condolences may be sent to www.brucefuneralhome.com
