A Gardner Edgerton School District bus collided with an SUV and rolled over at about 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 6.
The wreck occurred near Gardner Road and 223rd Street.  Sgt. Mike Early of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office said three people were transported to area hospitals after the accident, but none of the injured are students.
“Luckily, it wasn’t a bus full of kids,” Early said.
The bus driver was just starting her route, traveling southbound on Gardner Road. The bus collided in the intersection of 223rd Street with an eastbound Chevy Tahoe at around 7 a.m.
There were three people on the school bus, including the driver, her 2-year-old daughter, and a bus monitor. The bus monitor was taken to Olathe Medical Center with minor injuries.
There were also three people in the SUV. The driver and one of two passengers was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Early said the cause of the wreck is still being investigated.
The intersection was closed for about two hours.
