New middle school principal named

Wheatridge Middle School Principal Heath Sigg will move to Trail Ridge Middle School next fall.
Sigg will assume the role at the new facility when it opens July 1, 2014.
“I am honored to be a part of the new family of students and staff at Trail Ridge Middle School,” Sigg said in a press release. “My time at Wheatridge has been one of the most challenging, engaging and tremendously rewarding of my career in education. I have been blessed to learn and work with the outstanding caliber of staff and students at Wheatridge. I look forward to supporting the same successes at Trail Ridge Middle School.”
Sigg has served as a principal for four years. He also served for two years as assistant principal at WMS. He was selected as the Kansas Association of Secondary School Principals Principal of the Year in 2012.
Prior to serving as an administrator, he taught English and social studies in the De Soto and Gardner-Edgerton School Districts.
USD 231 Superintendent Bill Gilhaus said Sigg brings a level of energy and enthusiasm to the school each day.
“He has a proven track record of being an effective leader and possesses the skills necessary to ensure the successful opening of Trail Ridge Middle School.”
