The Lady Blazers will have a new volleyball coach when fall workouts begin this season.
Erica Cowhick, who played college volleyball at Washburn, replaces longtime coach Darrell Wait. She has been busy conducting summer camps for all ages since June 6.
“I believe it starts early and it starts with the basics,” said Cowhick. The kids have been very welcoming and worked hard.”
Cowhick graduated from Washburn in 2009 with a Bachelor in Education. She earned her Masters degree in Curriculum Instruction from Emporia State in 2011.
Cowhick led Topeka Seaman to state before taking over for Wait this summer.
